Louisiana Flooding Fund

In the Fall 2016 Update Letter, we announced a Louisiana Flood Relief Fund to help churches who suffered damage or who are sustaining the burden of bringing relief to people who suffered from the extensive flooding in Louisiana in August. Through the end of October, we received $12,790.00 in gifts designated for this purpose. We have distributed $12,690.00 so far to New Covenant Church, Denham Springs, LA, and Friendship Baptist Church, Baker, LA.  At present, we are still accepting donations designated to the Louisiana Flood Relief Fund.

“Thanks so much for the support you are giving to our fellowship as we continue reconstruction efforts after the flooding. The rebuilding is proceeding well, by God's grace. We are finishing the electrical, plumbing, and drywall installation this week. Next week, we hope to float and texture the sheetrock and install the doors and trim. We are working to save the chairs for our worship center and purchase sound equipment and a piano. God is demonstrating his faithfulness at every turn. We are so thankful!” – Pastor Rusty Reed, 11/14/2016, Friendship Baptist Church, Baker, LA

“New Covenant Church is in the epicenter of the flooded area and has been ministering to survivors for more than 90 days. Our initial response involved serving hot meals and distributing tons of food, clothing, and supplies. We are also housing relief workers from around the country who have been gutting houses and are now rebuilding homes.

“We have now transitioned from the acute response phase to the very slow recovery phase. Most flooded homes are still sitting there, stripped to the studs, as homeowners try to gather resources and skilled labor to rebuild.

“Support needed as we go forward:

“Pray for financial resources to assist as many homeowners as we can. Our desire is to minister to uninsured widows and the elderly, the disabled, and those with minor children first. We are carefully vetting all needs.

“Pray that God will send skilled volunteers with the skills needed to help repair homes.

“Tax-deductible donations provide the greatest flexibility in meeting needs. Gifts can be given online at or can be mailed to New Covenant Church at 215 Florida Ave. SE, Denham Springs, LA 70726.

“If you would like to come to the area to help, I would love to talk to you and answer any questions. Feel free to call 225-715-6149 or email” – Pastor Todd Whirley, 11/15/16, New Covenant Church, Denham Springs, LA

New Expanded Edition of the London Baptist Confession of 1689

We are pleased to offer our readers our freshly prepared London Baptist Confession of 1689 with Original Preface, Baptist Catechism, and Appendix on Baptism, all under one cover. We trust the added historical and doctrinal material will help clarify the key events and issues surrounding the Confession. In our day of doctrinal imprecision and carelessness toward holiness we need a return to a careful study of the doctrines of Scripture and the “faith of our fathers.”

The Preface explains the Confession’s background as a Baptist development of other Reformed confessions, the authors’ desire for a balance of loyalty to the truth and communion with differing brethren, and their hope that the confession would prove useful in family worship. The Baptist Catechism followed the original edition of the Confession and has been widely used for the instruction of children (and others) ever since. The original Appendix on Baptism gives a concise but carefully argued defense of the immersion of believers as opposed to the sprinkling of infants. Order your copy today!

Chapel Library and the Confession

Chapel Library is a ministry of Mt. Zion Bible Church, which holds to the 1689 Confession. While the Confession is not inspired, the elders and members of MZBC believe that it is a faithful expression of the foundational doctrines of Scripture. We also respect the Westminster Confession (1646) and the Savoy Declaration (1658), which preceded and served as the basis for the major part of our Confession.

We are grateful to the Lord for giving us the opportunity to send material throughout the world. It is exciting to see doors open everywhere for sending Christ-centered, grace-exalting literature that presents the gospel, evangelism, church government, the Christian family, and other matters of Christian living. But we realize that our faithfulness to Christ and fruitfulness in His service is vitally dependent on a clear understanding of biblical doctrine. In the Confession, our Baptist forefathers struggled to express carefully what this body of doctrine is, and we are committed to upholding the biblical truth it represents.

For this reason, we are careful to add titles to our catalog that uphold the God-given truths embodied in the Confession and that promote the Christ-honoring lifestyle that agrees with this doctrine.

Pray for Us

We are truly full of joyful gratitude to the Lord for sustaining the Free Grace Broadcaster, Chapel Library, and Mount Zion Bible Institute. Our print queues have remained full, our staff needs have been supplied, and we have mailed materials throughout the US and around the world, week after week. Most of all we rejoice in the Lord’s using our unworthy efforts for His glory in bringing the gospel to the unconverted and spiritual nourishment to those who already know Him.

Please join us in prayer for the effectiveness of the literature and courses in the encouragement and edification of God’s people and the salvation of the lost.

We are also constantly asking our Lord for new contacts, international distributors, churches, prison chaplains, and other ministries to make use of the material God has graciously given us to send out.

The continual collapse of surrounding professing Christian society into false doctrine and disobedience causes us to cry out to our Savior for preservation from falling into sin and error.

Please remember us in prayer before our merciful and faithful God!

Reports of what the Lord has done and is doing

“We have received your quarterly magazine through your distributor Pastor Roy here in Cuba. We give thanks to God for the work you are doing of promoting the truth of God and that more believers can know about Christ-centered literature from the past.” – from a friend in Cuba

Distribution of Spanish FGB Idolatry in Cuba

“You have no idea how much of a blessing I am getting from the books and booklets I have received! They are answering so many questions, making me understand my position as a Christian. The one I am reading now is Behold what Manner of Love, by Hux. Oh, it has given me such new assurance. I am a Christian! I am so grateful to God for leading me to your website, and picking out all the titles that He did for me. It is just right what I need at this hour!” – a reader in California

“Dear sirs, I just want to express to you my gratitude for the materials that you send to me. I am a church planter, and it is a real blessing to me to have access to such good material. For me the Portavoz de la gracia [Spanish FGB] is a spiritual refreshment.” – Latino pastor in Colorado

“I’m thankful first to the Lord and then to you all. When I went to my workplace the postman stopped me and handed me the package which you sent me. Thank you, brothers, for the books and the Portavoz de la gracia magazines [Spanish FGB]. May the Lord continue using you and blessing you to be a blessing to others.” – a friend in Cuba

Printing of Romanian FGB The Gospel in Romania

Distribution in prison of CL literature printed in Uganda

“Today the two boxes that you sent arrived. We are extremely grateful for this gift, and we are certain it will be a great blessing and edification for each brother or person who attends the conference.” – a friend in Chile

“By God's grace, the seven boxes you sent me arrived on Friday in good condition. This literature is so welcome and will benefit the African Pastor’s Conference delegates greatly. Many, many thanks for the generosity of Chapel Library.” – a friend in South Africa

“I want to say thank you for the incredible ministry of Mt. Zion! The materials you have provided are being used daily. Every request we receive for Christian literature receives both Greasy the Robber and Forgiveness automatically. When we receive requests from the two high-aggression cell-houses we send a copy of Ryle’s Thoughts for Young Men. These cell-houses are comprised predominately of younger men, many of them relatively just off the streets of Chicago.” – a prison chaplain in Illinois
